Welcome Radio Hauraki was New Zealand’s one and only pirate radio station, which broadcast
from international waters in the Hauraki Gulf, near the city of Auckland, between
1966 and 1970. Back in the 1960s all radio stations were controlled and operated
by a Government agency – theNew Zealand Broadcasting Corporation – which refused
